Third and final HEMERA balloon launched

Third and final HEMERA balloon launched

Early morning at 3:20 CET, on the 7th of September, this year’s third and final balloon within the HEMERA program was launched from Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden.

HEMERA is an EU program aiming at making existing balloon facilities around Europe available for all scientific teams in the EU. Among many different experiments within the program, climate research and astronomical experiments are two focus areas.
