Surrounded by the foothills of the Andes
The Santiago Ground Station was first established to support the Apollo missions, today it has multiple TT&C antennas, operating in S-band up and downlink. All these antennas interface with the operations building, where the receiving, processing, recording and monitoring systems are located. In addition, there is a 13.5m antenna supporting Lunar services with receive and transmit in both S and X-band.
The station hosts antennas and baseband equipment for our customers and has plenty of room for additional similar systems. It has its own power backup and generation system (UPS and diesel). The station also employs a large solar panel array to reduce CO2 emissions resulting from electricity consumption from the grid.
Location
