We are honored to announce that His Excellency President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of the Federal Republic of Germany and His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden will visit Esrange Space Center on 9 September, together with Her Majesty Queen Silvia and the President’s wife, Ms Elke Büdenbende.

At our Swedish space base, the guests will be taken on a journey through Swedish-German space history and the exciting opportunities and plans that lie ahead. During the visit, they will stop by at different parts of Esrange to learn more about the various space related operations carried out there.

The visit to Esrange is part of a three-day state visit where the King of Sweden has invited the German President to Stockholm and Kiruna. The theme for the visit is innovation, sustainability and democracy and the long and fruitful Swedish-German relations. German and Swedish space actors have long collaborated on advancements in the field of space as well as many other industries.
