Romina Gaudio is one of our brilliant Electronics Engineers at SSC.
Originally from Uruguay, she started a fascinating career journey in satellite manufacturing before moving into medical R&D (research and development), designing life-saving defibrillators. But Romina’s passion for space technology led to a shift into aerospace, and now she is pushing the frontiers of innovation at SSC.
Currently, Romina is working on the development of an electronic board she named “EPIC” (Electric Pyro Ignition Control) board.
“I started with the project from the beginning, and I will continue with it until it’s ready for launch”, she says. “For me, it’s a huge challenge, but it’s also very rewarding to see how it evolves.
With her love for space exploration and constant curiosity, Romina envisions a future where space becomes more accessible for all kinds of research, pushing the limits of knowledge.
“The conditions we find in space (lack of gravity, vacuum, extreme temperatures, radiation, etc.) are completely different from the ones on Earth and are very difficult to reproduce in a laboratory. Having this resource available, opens more doors for research and allows scientists and other professionals to push the limits of knowledge. Therefore, I hope it continues to grow and becomes more accessible for everyone in need.”
