The SSC Space Conference 2025, held from February 18th to 20th, brought together key customers, industry leaders, and experts to discuss the latest trends and advancements in space technology. The event kicked off with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Charlotta Sund, followed by insightful presentations on the SSC Way Forward by our division Presidents Nick Priborsky, Nathalie Fortier, Ulrika Unell, and Lennart Poromaa.
Throughout the two-day conference, attendees had the opportunity to engage in various sessions covering a wide range of topics. From mission success stories shared by experts from NASA, JHU APL, and ESTEC, to discussions on the future of spacecraft operations with AI and ML, the conference provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
One of the highlights was the keynote on Global Market Trends by Laurent Valignon from Nova Space, highlighting the market developments and dynamic changes in the space industry. Another was the panel discussion on the Evolution of Ground Station as a Service, featuring representatives from ESA, NASA, and Hispasat. The conference also included sessions on the future of sounding rockets and balloon campaigns, showcasing innovative approaches and technologies.
The first day concluded with a keynote by Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum from the Swedish Armed Forces, emphasizing the importance of space safety and security.
Day two was hosted at Esrange Space Center, where Lennart Poromaa, together with Johan Nyström from the Swedish Defense, Ella Carlsson from SNSA discussed Esrange’s future developments. David L. Pierce, the Director of NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) also joined to discuss the unique historic partnership between the two ranges, and possibilities for future collaboration and knowlegde sharing.
We also had customer spotlights featuring the Themis Project by ArianeGroup and Firefly’s rocket project developments and test activities at Esrange, among other topics.
