Krister Sjölander has been appointed President of Science Services of SSC. He will take office on April 1 and be part of the Executive Committee. He succeeds Lennart Poromaa, who will focus on developing the capabilities at SSC’s crucial asset, Esrange Space Center, in the role as Head of Esrange.

As an active member of the Executive Committee (EC), the President of Science Services will lead the planning, development, and execution of the business strategy and organization of the Science Services division, manage customer relationships, vendors, and service providers in close collaboration with colleagues, and drive business development, sales, and delivery of services to achieve set targets.

“As President of the Science Services division, I look forward to continuing to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the SSC group and to develop the unique combination of space services offered by Science Services, delivering on our mission and public assignment,” says Krister Sjölander.

Krister Sjölander has been a dedicated professional at SSC since 1998. Since 2021, Krister has served as the Department Manager of Payloads and Flight Systems and Vice President of Science Services.

“Krister’s exceptional combination of industry and technical skills and proven track record in developing relevant space services will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and expand our capabilities. I am pleased to welcome Krister Sjölander as President of Science Services and member of EC,” says Charlotta Sund, President and CEO of SSC.

Krister Sjölander will take office on April 1, 2025.
