LSE Space GmbH is looking for an experienced Mission Control System (MCS) Engineer to join our Service Team for our customer in Darmstadt.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide routine operations support for flying missions' operational mission control systems
- Assessment of anomalies and collaboration with other engineering teams and services for troubleshooting of the identified/reported anomalies
- Provide services for the evolution of mission control systems for the upcoming missions
- Contribute to technical assessments, prototyping and software evolutions
- Contribute to tasks related to system requirements engineering in collaboration with operational users and any other engineering teams or partners
- Perform end-to-end and/or contribute to any tasks related to architectural and interface design, including system detailed design and implementation
- Contribute to any tasks related to assembly & integration, requirement verification engineering, integration & verification planning and specification
- Conduct and coordinate routine and special activities
Requirements:
- Masters degree in a relevant engineering or science field
- Experience in Spacecraft Operations
- Knowledge of relevant mission control systems
- Knowledge of SCOS 2000, Linux, relational databases
- Proficiency with scripting or programing languages (eg. Python, C/C++. Linux Shell, etc.)
- Proven experience interacting with end users
- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot problems
- Fluent in English, both in speaking and writing
- Good communication, planning and reporting skills
- Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no supervision
- System-minded and a team player
- Able to work in an interdisciplinary and multinational team
- Experience with large software systems is an advantage
- German language skills are an advantage

In line with security requirements of the mission, the candidate must be eligible to live and work in the EU (Blue Card) and will undergo stringent reference and identity checks. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.
