LSE Space GmbH is looking for a JAVA Software Developer / Software Engineer to strengthen our team of software and system engineers to develop software for the International Space Station (ISS). 




  • Software development for the next-generation Monitoring & Control System of Columbus, the European laboratory attached to the International Space Station
  • Technical lead for the design and implementation of sub-components of the system in compliance with the overall system architecture
  • Technical documentation of implementation in Wiki system and UML Model (experience in MBSE would be an asset)
  • Pro-active evolution of current technology stack throughout the initial development phase and subsequent maintenance phase




  • University degree in computer science, engineering or similar discipline
  • Proficiency in Java 8/11
  • Proficiency in Apache Karaf (OSGi) Framework and OSGi methodology
  • DevOps mindset and experience in CI/CD pipelines based on Nexus, Jenkins, Git and Docker
  • Experience in agile software development lifecycles
  • Experience in Linux environments and supplementary scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python)
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience in Kubernetes and Docker deployments
  • Advanced debugging and troubleshooting skills in Kubernetes, Docker and OSGi deployments
  • Experience in web-frontend development based on the React framework would be an asset
  • Experience in Apache ServiceMix platform would be an asset
