To support our Service Team for the Galileo Mission at the Galileo Control Center (GCC-D) in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, Germany, we are currently seeking to employ a motivated and enthusiastic Ground Segment IV&V Engineer. The main objective will be to provide technical support to Galileo operations and all Ground Control Segment related activities.

In order to be eligible to work on European Space missions the candidate has to hold an EU citizenship and has to be eligible to obtain a security clearance. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process. Furthermore, in view of the nature of the work the company is in, all potential employees will undergo stringent reference and identity checks.

Your tasks and responsibilities


  • Support minor and major evolutions of the Ground Control Segment Infrastructure
  • Support IV&V campaigns for the Galileo Ground Control Segment (mainly software based elements)  
  • Support the upgrade of end-to-end integrated maintenance and troubleshooting environment  
  • Support operations and other maintenance teams for problem management, system restoration, vulnerability management and handling of security incidents  
  • Investigation and analysis of software anomalies  
  • Definition and maintenance of workarounds and troubleshooting procedures  
  • Participation in the Anomaly Review Boards  
  • Coordination with other maintenance teams
  • Testing and deployment of software maintenance releases  
  • Generation/maintenance of maintenance releases data packs


Your profile


  • University degree in a relevant discipline  
  • Experience in software integration, verification and validation  
  • Proficiency in Linux environments and virtualization  
  • Knowledge of SCOS and/or mission planning systems would be an asset  
  • Experience in ground system operations would be an advantage  
  • Fluency in English 
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Interested in constant learning
  • Knowledge of Galileo or other navigation ground segment would be a plus
