At SSC we enable our customers to make better use of space. Through the efforts of our approximately 660 employees around the world, we provide specialized competence in design, test, launch and operation of space and air systems. The Science Services Division develops rocket and balloon systems including experiment equipment for microgravity research. We also launch rockets and balloons from Esrange Space Center.

YOUR ROLE

We can offer you an exciting job as Systems Engineer at our Launch Team. The role consists of mainly operational activities with responsibilities in the field of electronics, fiber and network. You will have a wide range of tasks from operational preparations to execution of rocket and balloon campaigns. You will also work with planning, maintenance and development of systems and equipment required for our launches. In this role you will be trained to take responsibility for operative systems for our rockets and balloons campaigns.

 

WHO YOU ARE

To thrive in this position, you possess adaptability, effortlessly adjust priorities and readily shift focus. You exhibit a solution-driven mindset, combining practical and theoretical expertise while embracing the diverse range of challenges this role offers.

You have technical degree or equivalent experience within electronics, fiber or network. You demonstrate an understanding of and possesses the ability to conduct safe operations. Your proficiency in both Swedish and English is crucial, as we operate in a global environment with customers from various parts of the world.

It is a merit if you have:

  • experience within electronics, fiber or network
  • experience of explosives
  • project management experience

LOCATION

This is a permanent position with 40h/week located at Esrange Space Center outside Kiruna and remote work may only occur in exceptional cases. As part of our team, you will take part in rocket and balloon campaigns which are scheduled outside normal working hours. Work at different locations can also occur during campaigns.
