SSC Space, a global provider of advanced space services, together with Infostellar Inc. (“Infostellar”), a provider of ground station networks virtualization platforms, and Seiren Co., Ltd. (“Seiren”), have signed a contract for satellite communications services supporting Seiren’s FUSION-1 mission. The services will leverage SSC Space Go and the Infostellar ground station networks virtualization platform.

Under this agreement, SSC Space Go, SSC Space’s newly launched global ground station service for small satellites and constellations, will support the FUSION-1mission. Through StellarStation, Infostellar’s ground station networks virtualization platform, the mission will gain access to the communications opportunities required for satellite operations.

As demand for small satellite constellations and satellite data applications continues to grow in Japan, the capability to flexibly utilize domestic and international ground station networks is becoming increasingly important for efficient satellite operations.

This project demonstrates how a Japanese-operated satellite can leverage a new international ground station network architecture. It provides an additional option for satellite operators in Japan and contributes to the continued development of the Japanese space industry.

“Seiren has already established full-scale mass production capabilities for small satellites and is now expanding into satellite operations through the FUSION-1 mission. Under our collaboration with SSC Space, a global ground station service provider, and Infostellar, which offers a platform connecting ground station networks and satellite operations, we are now able to access international ground station networks and further enhance our satellite operation capabilities,” says Hideyuki Yamada, President and Representative Director at Seiren. “We aim to increase the value of satellite-based services by expanding opportunities for satellite operations and data acquisition. We are pleased that this collaboration creates an important opportunity for the expansion of Japanese satellite constellation businesses and believe it will contribute to the continuous growth of the space industry in Japan.”

“We are honored to support Seiren’s FUSION-1 mission in collaboration with SSC Space, one of the world’s largest ground station service providers,” says Naomi Kurahara, CEO, Infostellar. “SSC Space Go is designed as a ground station service optimized for small satellite constellations, and by connecting this network to Infostellar’s cloud platform, StellarStation, we are now able to provide StellarStation platform users with an even broader range of service options. We will continue working closely with SSC Space to deliver highly reliable ground station services in a simple and timely manner.”

“This contract marks an important milestone for SSC Space and SSC Space Go, our new global ground station service that is tailored to the growing commercial space market. It also reflects our commitment to the Japanese market,” says Mac Kanazawa, Country Manager of Japan, SSC Space. “By leveraging SSC Space Go, this project strengthens our engagement with Japan’s space ecosystem, and we look forward to continuing to provide world-class space services to support the growth of Japan’s innovative space industry.”
