Launch your satellite from Esrange Space Center!

We are establishing satellite launch capabilities from Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden, with the first launch planned for 2028 with Firefly Alpha.

Primary rideshare. Secondary rideshare. Dedicated launch. Choose the launch solution that fits your satellite, orbit and mission priorities.

Payload and orbit details

The orbital launch service is intended for satellites up to 630 kg, with a primary focus on micro- and minisatellites, and will provide access to high-inclination, sun-synchronous, and polar orbits, supporting the needs of commercial, scientific, and defense customers.

Our Esrange Space Center offers established infrastructure, extensive launch ranges, and decades of experience in sounding rocket launches, launch operations, and advanced testing.

Through our partnership with Firefly Aerospace, we combine SSC Space’s infrastructure and operational expertise with a proven launch vehicle to deliver dependable and high-quality launch services from mainland Europe.

A European home for your mission

At Esrange Space Center, payload preparation, integration, storage and launch can be carried out in Sweden. The launch site includes a control centre, payload-processing and integration facilities, an ISO 8 cleanroom and secure storage.

Located in a remote part of northern Sweden, Esrange Space Center combines large, sparsely populated impact areas with established infrastructure and extensive experience in launch operations and advanced testing.

For customers with demanding security and mission-assurance requirements, this provides a clear European route from payload arrival to launch.

Spaceport Esrange

Europe's polar gateway to Space

SSC Space is leveraging decades of experience from sub-orbital operations to provide a bespoke service offering, based on launch vehicle providers partnerships with Firefly Aerospace. Supported by our global ground station network, this service can be complemented by space-to-ground services.

Esrange benefits from favorable weather conditions, including dry air, stable atmospheric conditions, and a high number of launch opportunities. Combined with its remote location and large, sparsely populated impact areas, these conditions help enable safe, reliable, and efficient satellite launches.
