WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar experience
Proficiency in Java for backend development
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience
BONUS POINTS
Experience in API development using RESTFul (JSON/XML)
Experience with Go, Python, and C++
Solid understanding of database design, optimization, and management
Experience with software development best practices including Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools
Cloud experience with technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes
Experience in the space industry
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU WILL DO
This is a unique opportunity to help build and maintain products that support the monitoring and control of ground station hardware. You will be part of a skilled agile development team with global team members. You will work in a dynamic environment and participate in the full software development life cycle of our products.
Our customers trust us with their satellite communication. We build fast and reliable services and tools to ensure that satellite data is transferred safely to the customer. Satellite data has many purposes - from science lab results and earth observations to weather data and tsunami alerts. Our work matters to people and makes a difference in the world.
As a Software Engineer, you will:
Work with the team on the design and development of antenna monitor and control services.
Support colleagues with scheduling, orbital launch services, and emerging technologies.
Develop and maintain high-quality code for new and existing software applications used to enable SSC’s services.
Continually improve our processes for automated software testing and deployment through the exploration of emerging technologies.
Enhance system observability by implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Promote and refine agile methodologies, principles, and values within the teams.
Support our customers' missions.

LOCATION
This position is based in the suburbs of office Philadelphia, PA. Employees must be available to be in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week. Our new office is located in Spring House Innovation Park, a 133-acre research and business campus featuring a café, fitness center, conference facilities, outdoor patios, and walking trails - designed to foster creativity and collaboration.
