Satellite Launch
and Rocket Test Services

Your European launch provider for small satellites

We are establishing satellite launch capabilities from Esrange Space Center, with the first launch planned for 2028. We aim to become a leading European launch service for small satellites with capabilities for sun-synchronous and polar orbiting satellites.

Europe's polar gateway to space

We aim to become a leading European launch service provider for small satellites, delivering reliable access to sun-synchronous, polar, and other high-inclination orbits from our Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden.

Through our partnership with Firefly Aerospace, we combine proven launch capability with decades of operational experience to offer end-to-end launch services for payloads of up to 630 kg from mainland Europe.

Questions & Answers

SSC Space is developing capabilities for small satellite launch from Esrange Space Center in Sweden in northern Sweden, providing access to orbital launch services from mainland Europe. The first launch is planned for the third quarter of 2028.

Rocket test services support the development of propulsion systems, launch vehicles, and space technologies. They are used by commercial companies, research organizations, and institutional customers.

Esrange Space Center offers a large restricted area, advanced infrastructure, and a safe environment for rocket test services and launch operations, making it a strategic site for space development in Europe. Esrange is easy to access via air, road, rail and sea.

Yes, SSC Space supports commercial launch providers with launch services at Esrange, including infrastructure, range operations, and technical expertise for both testing and launch campaigns.

From Esrange Space Center, satellite launch services in Europe enable efficient access to polar and sun-synchronous orbits, which are ideal for Earth observation and environmental monitoring missions.

Yes. Esrange benefits from favourable weather conditions, including dry air, stable atmospheric conditions, and a high number of launch opportunities. Combined with its remote location and large, sparsely populated impact areas, these conditions help enable safe, reliable, and efficient space missions and rocket launches.
