YOUR ROLE
 
As a Local Security Officer (LSO), you will play a key role in safeguarding Esrange Space Center by implementing and maintaining security processes and protocols. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of physical security, ensuring compliance with regulations, and proactively addressing security risks.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the planning, coordination, and oversight of security measures for Esrange’s physical assets.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to security regulations and supervising compliance efforts.
  • Conducting local threat profile assessments, maintaining risk evaluations, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing and issuing regular security reports while collaborating with other Local Security Officers to enhance security measures.
  • Managing and optimizing personnel access control and surveillance systems, including upgrades and security enhancements.

In this role, you will work closely with internal teams and external security stakeholders, ensuring that Esrange Space Center remains a secure and well-protected environment for its critical operations.

 

WHO YOU ARE
 
To thrive as a Local Security Officer (LSO), you should have a bachelor’s degree in a technical or security-related field or equivalent relevant work experience. You must be proficient in both English and Swedish, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Due to the nature of this role, Swedish citizenship and physical presence at Esrange are mandatory.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Contextually aware and able to assess security risks in a dynamic environment.
  • Customer and solution-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A strong communicator who can build and maintain relationships across teams and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical, disciplined, and accountable, with a structured and methodical work ethic.

Previous experience in areas such as security operations, requirement management, risk management, or project management is highly valued.

A B driver’s license is required for this position.
