The field of satellite communication is currently evolving rapidly with a high level of incorporation of new technologies.


As a Systems Engineer at SSC, you will:

  • Lead the development and integration of customers space missions into our service system, providing them data reception and TT&C services
  • Work on technology development projects to improve and create new space services
  • Interact with customers and suppliers on technical matters
  • Participate in projects and analyses/technical investigations
  • Provide technical supports to sales in bids and proposals


To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A drive to provide excellent technical solutions and a desire to learn new things, likely excited about the growing space industry
  • Some years of experience in systems engineering (preferably both hardware and software)
  • The ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly and effectively
  • The ability to write technical documentation and follow formal processes
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or space technology and an interest in all three areas


It would also be a plus if you have:

  • A comprehensive understanding of space-to-ground communications
  • Familiarity with ground station/network equipment and protocols in satellite communication (RF modulation techniques, error coding, and standards)
  • Documented knowledge of a major programming/scripting language and knowledge of software architectures and trends.
  • Experience with cloud technologies like virtual machines, containers, docker
  • Knowledge of using Linux operating systems (installing, configuring, building from open-source projects)

This is a permanent full-time position located in Kiruna Sweden or Solna (Stockholm) Sweden.
