We are currently seeking to employ a motivated and experienced Ground Segment Systems Engineer to support our team at EUMETSAT, contributing to the development and maintenance of advanced meteorological satellite systems.

What you´ll do


  • Perform requirements engineering for ground systems in operations and development
  • Contribute to system and interface design activities
  • Support integration, verification, and validation testing (IV&V)
  • Participate in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities
  • Contribute to operations support and maintenance activities
  • Support configuration management and change control processes
  • Participate in technical reviews and documentation activities

What we are looking for


  • A Master´s degree in Aerospace engineering, Computer Science or in a similar subject
  • Strong background and experience in systems engineering and IV&V activities for ground segment elements of earth observation missions
  • Expertise using DOORS, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and SysML
  • Familiarity with space and ground system engineering processes and standards (preferably ECSS)
  • Proficiency in formal testing processes (FAT/OSAT)
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
  • The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
    • Familiarity with data processing systems for earth observation missions
    • Knowledge of IT/ground segment technologies (databases, virtualization, networking)
    • Experience in maintenance of ground systems and anomaly management
