We are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to enhance the Cyber Security team from one of our main customers in south Germany and be responsible for planning and coordinating the relevant work in their Cyber Security team such as analytical activities, regular analysis of security risks, the verification of the implementation of adequate security measures, as well as conducting security audits of national and European authorities.

Security:
In line with security requirements, the candidate has to hold an European citizenship. Evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process. Furthermore, in view of the nature of the work the company is in, all potential employees will undergo stringent reference and identity checks.

Your tasks and responsibilities


  • Review and analyze information security procedures and applications running regularly in day-to-day business (access protection, encryption, configuration control, vulnerability analysis, malware detection, database activities), with prior analysis of project requirements in the cyber-security area
  • Identify potential threats to the information and communication systems, preparation of a response plan, review implementation and development, followed by escalation in case of breaches
  • Detect and classify of system anomalies in the local security environment, create a solution concept
  • Process the security risk register by continuously identifying new cyber security risks and threats
  • Prepare training materials and regular training of project staff in the context of IT security
  • Regular reporting and quick escalation to the Cyber Security Manager System        
  • Regular review and documentation of the system against the security requirements
  • Define new projects and technical solutions in the cyber security area


Your profile


  • University degree in computer science, cyber security or equivalent
  • Profound professional experience in the field of IT or in the security industry
  • In-depth knowledge of cyber security-related topics (security concepts, encryption, vulnerability analysis, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge in administration of client and server systems (Windows and Linux)
  • In-depth knowledge of software development (Python and Django) and databases
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotational basis 
  • Willingness to undergo security audits 
  • Fluency in English. Fluency in German is an advantage
