Spacecraft Operations Engineer (f/m/d)

LSE Space GmbH is looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer (f/m/d) to support the activities of our Service Team for one of the missions in ESOC, Darmstadt.

 

Tasks

  • Preparation, validation and testing of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures
  • Mission Planning Support Service
  • Support to Space and Ground Segment anomaly and problem handling, investigation, and resolution
  • Support of routine operations, including on-call support
  • Provision of operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems and/or payload instruments and/or on-board software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations interfaces
  • Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration-controlled environment
  • Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary
  • Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements
  • Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals
  • Provide consultancy the definition of tools and processes required to operate the satellites

 

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, or other related field
  • Proven and demonstrated experience in Spacecraft Operations
  • Proven and demonstrated experience in Mission Data Systems development and validation:
    • Mission Control Systems (SCOS-2000)
    • SimSat-based simulators from an end-user point of view
  • Fluency in English, both in speaking and writing
  • Strong team player
  • Highly motivated and independent to learn
  • Desirable skills are:
    • Familiarity with the ESOC environment and planetary missions
    • Familiarity with MOIS
