Position Summary

The successful candidate is a sales professional who will grow SSC’s Satellite Management Services (SaMS) business focusing on the US Commercial sector, including but not limited to large satellite constellations planning or in process of launching. As a member of the SaMS Americas region team, the individual will work together with the Americas region leadership to position SSC’s SaMS division to exceed its near and long-term business objectives.  Industry experience and understanding of overall project management and subcontractor management is a plus.  Your experience, agility, and openness to learn together with your ability to communicate and build internal and external networks will be critical to your success


Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop an effective business strategy for the US commercial market with specific emphasis on satellite communications for Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP), Telemetry, Tracking & Commanding (TT&C) and Data Downlink services from SaMS global infrastructure
  • Develop, grow and manage relationships
  • Identify specific opportunities for pursuit in the US space industry and work with the SaMS Americas team to close business opportunities in this market
  • Provide current market analysis and trends in the US market for input into the company’s business plan
  • Project leadership, coordination, and planning
  • Create, manage, and forecast customer revenues using SSC’s customer relationship management (CRM) system
  • Establish new customer relationships; develop and maintain customer contact and positioning with existing customers
  • Build upon existing SSC contracts to identify and win new business
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans
  • Enable coordination between Engineering, Operations, Enterprise IT, Finance, and SaMS management during the sales process
  • Lead and facilitate customer satisfaction and trusted partnerships with key customers


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Aerospace or Space industry sales, or business development
  • Experience in TT&C systems and ground network implementation
  • Proven ability to identify and create unique value propositions for clients and develop key strategic relationships
  • Good understanding of space industry mission, challenges, limitations, and the ability to develop an in-depth communication of our solutions and how they apply to the customer’s needs
  • Demonstrated outstanding networking capabilities
  • Ability to travel to customers, conferences, and events –up to 25-50% travel expected
  • Skilled in negotiation and contract closing
  • Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
  • Ability to contribute in strategy-setting sessions and budget decisions
  • Recognized professionalism and business demeanor
  • Ability to manage long-term customer relationships



  • Undergraduate degree in technical or business, with priority given to specific training, experience, and education in the ground communications segment of the space industry.
  • Post-secondary education (MS or MBA) is a plus
