This year's donation goes to the Swedish Education Fund for Liberia.
We are reaching the end of 2014, a year of positive outcome and development within SSC. For our traditional Christmas donation we have chosen to take part in the fight against Ebola by donating to the Swedish Education Fund for Liberia (SUFL).
SUFL is a Swedish non-governmental organization that develops and provides education opportunities to the poorest children in Liberia. When the schools closed due to the Ebola outbreak the SUFL projects were put on hold. One of the board members of SUFL, Liisa Kiviloog, an SSC employee, has strong connections to Liberia after living in the country. Via social media she and her friend collect money to buy preventive aid items like chlorine, which mixed with water becomes a virus killing hand wash. They also buy buckets, soap, rice and oil which are handed out to affected communities in Ebola-hit areas. SUFL ensures that 100% of the donated money reaches Liberia.
- We are proud to take our responsibility in the fight against Ebola. We are happy to support initiatives like this. With this gift we wish all our customers and partners a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, says CEO Stefan Gardefjord.
