Rosetta woke up! RSS

21 Jan 2014

Successful wake-up of ESA's comet chaser on 20 Jan.

After 31 months of hibernation, Rosetta transmitted its first signal meaning that it is in a safe status. This succesful step is just the adventure's beginning...

More challenging steps are ahead for the Rosetta ESOC Flight Control Team: driving the spacecraft to the comet, making it orbit around it and eventually delivering the lander.

LSE Space supports this mission with a Spaceraft Operations Engineer in the ESOC Flight Control Team (Darmstadt, Germany).
